Shared Agreements: Guiding Our Collective Journey

These principles foster an environment where every voice matters, creating a space for respect, understanding, and inclusivity within our community. As co-creators, we commit to a collective journey rooted in compassion, connection, and true belonging.

  • Initiating a Proposal: We begin with a proposal, which can be introduced by anyone who wants to suggest an addition, alteration, or contribution to the group. This can commence during our regular meetings through a collaborative process, or if you've already developed a proposal, you can proceed to the next step.
  • Group Evaluation: Each member of the group collectively evaluates whether the proposal meets the criteria of being "good enough" and "safe enough." We express our consent or withhold it using the polling feature in our facebook group. When submitting your proposal, kindly include these two polling options:
    • "I Consent" - Signifying that you believe the proposal meets the criteria.
    • "I Withhold My Consent" - Indicating that you have reservations and will provide feedback in the comments to explain why you believe it falls short.
  • Constructive Feedback: If you choose to withhold consent, it's essential to offer valid feedback as to why you're doing so. We encourage constructive feedback to help refine the proposal.
  • Adaptation or Abandonment: We proceed by either adjusting the proposal to align with the criteria of being "good enough" and "safe enough" based on the feedback loop, or we may decide to abandon it.
  • Proposal Ownership: The individual who initially submits the proposal takes responsibility for making necessary adaptations and resubmitting it.
  • Collaborative Roles: Other group members may choose to assume roles that contribute to the realization of the proposal.
  • Minimum Participation and Duration: A minimum of five participants must engage with the poll, and the poll should remain open for at least five days before closing.
  • Consent Duration and Potential Revisions: Once implemented, a shared agreement remains in effect for 90 days. After this period, it may return to the proposal stage for potential revision. This approach acknowledges the dynamic and emergent nature of our collective, enabling new perspectives to be heard and assessing the agreement's effectiveness.
